Illustrator, Owahonton: Maid of the Mist

Joan Elizabeth Johnson was born and raised in the Town of Niagara in New York State. She studied fine arts and painting at Buffalo State College. Her art reflects her life long interest in yoga philosophy and the natural world. Among her works are the cover and drawings for the two volumes "The Valmiki Ramayana Retold in Verse" by Swami Rama, and The Cover of "Wisdom of the Ancient Sages Mundaka Upanishad", also by Swami Rama. She still lives and works in her studio in the Niagara area.
