Fire and Water: Disasters on the Buffalo Harbor and the Surrounding Waterfront A native of Buffalo, William Kae is a graduate from Hutch-Tech High School, received a bachelors degree in mathematics from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and a masters degree from Saint Bonaventure University. He presently works as an environmental data analyst for a commercial real estate firm in Downtown Buffalo. His first published work appeared in the book Many Voices Two: A Collective History of Fort Erie published by the Fort Erie Museum Board. Steamers of the Crystal Beach Line is Bills first independent work. His second volume, Crystal Beach Live, rediscovers the decades of live entertainment that made Crystal Beach the dominant summer entertainment center on the Niagara Frontier. From the sounds of music floating on the air to the acrobats and daredevils flying through it, Crystal Beach Live returns the spotlight to the local, regional, and national entertainers -- many long forgotten, that performed at Crystal Beach Park. Bill volunteers for the Lower Lakes Marine Historical Society in Downtown Buffalo, is a member of the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society, and the American Coaster Enthusiasts. |
