The Darwin D. Martin House on Buffalo's Jewett Parkway is revered around the world as an outstanding example of Wright's Prairie House ideal. Yet, there was a span of 17 years when the house was abandoned, and some of the unique details were ruined. After Darwin D. Martin died, and the house passed to his son, snow was allowed to build up on the gentle slope of the tiled roof, and a glass block balcony collapsed, destroying the tiled floor in the living room below...
