At the time that he wrote White Death, he was History Department Head at Port Colborne High School, teaching courses in Sociology and Disaster Survival. Rossi notes the contrast between White Death: The Blizzard of '77 and Crystal Beach: The Good Old Days. One is about a major natural disaster and the other is a major human success story. But in both stories the human spirit rises to crush adversity so that your faith is restored in human nature. Rossi is a world traveller, an outdoor enthusiast, and a free-lance writer. He has published many articles with an outdoor and survival theme, and has co-authored a history textbook used in Canadian schools entitled, "Many Cultures - Many Heritages" by McGraw-Hill Ryerson. |
